Mrs. Katie Walsh

Welcome to the Mark Twain Library! I am Mrs. Walsh, the school librarian, and I am so excited for the students to come into the library each week. Not only will students be able to check out lots of wonderful books, but they'll also be listening to fabulous stories and completing fun STEAM activities. It's going to be a terrific school year!

About Me... 

Before becoming the Mark Twain librarian, I was a classroom teacher for over 13 years. I spent most of my career as a 2nd grade teacher in the Riverside School District; however, most recently, I was a math and reading intervention teacher for the Park Ridge-Niles School District. 

I completed my undergraduate studies at Indiana University and later obtained a Masters from Concordia University.    When I’m not teaching, I love to spend time with my family. My husband and I live in Park Ridge with our two elementary-aged daughters.  I love reading all genres, listening to nonfiction audiobooks, traveling, and watching sports.
